This Food Staples Tote Bag design is hand-embroidered by Egyptian women in Luxor, Upper Egypt. Inspired by an Ancient Egyptian food painting found in the Tomb of Menna, Qurna. Fish, especially tilapia, was the main protein in Ancient Egyptian diets due to its abundance in the Nile. Their cuisine also featured grapes, bread, eggs, and chate melons which were commonly depicted in tomb art.
