ROOT Sculptural Console

Description

The ROOT Sculptural Console is a one-of-a-kind statement piece shaped by the natural character of solid timber. A long live-edge wood slab rests on an expressive root-form base, preserving the original cracks, cavities, grain and irregularities of the wood. Designed as a functional console while carrying the presence of a collectible sculpture.

Customization

Available in custom lengths, depths, wood tones and finishes. Each piece is individually produced from naturally formed timber, meaning no two consoles will have identical grain, edges, cavities or root structures.

Materials & Construction

• Top: Single-piece solid natural wood slab
• Top Edge: Natural live edge
• Base: Sculptural solid natural tree-root structure
• Surface Character: Natural grain, knots, cracks, cavities and organic imperfections intentionally preserved
• Finish: Hand-sanded natural matte / satin protective finish
• Structure: Internally reinforced where required for long-term stability
• Protective Coating: Clear protective wood coating while maintaining the natural texture and appearance

Product Story

ROOT transforms the natural architecture of a tree into functional furniture. Rather than reshaping the timber into a conventional form, the design preserves its history—the splits, voids, grain and irregular edges become the defining details. The sculptural root base appears to grow naturally into the slab above, creating a piece that sits between furniture and functional art.

Product Type: Sculptural Console / Statement Console

For the proportions shown, I would classify it as a console rather than a buffet, because it has an open sculptural base and no enclosed storage.
