Rooted Transience

Published on the occasion of the AlMusalla Prize at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, this bilingual book explores contemporary architectural practices in the Arab world. It centers on the concept of the “Musalla” (a space for prayer) as a site for architectural innovation, examining how temporary structures can reflect deep-rooted cultural heritage while addressing modern transient needs. It features essays and visual documentation of proposals from the inaugural edition of the prize.
