A geospatial, cross-disciplinary examination of why tropical humid lowlands are more sensitive to environmental deterioration and less suitable for intensive agricultural exploitation. The work analyzes soil properties, climate-driven weathering, biomass nutrient cycling, and interactions with forests and biodiversity, and discusses strategies to overcome ecological constraints in tropical agriculture.
