About the Artwork

Irises was one of the first paintings Van Gogh created at the Saint-Remy asylum in 1889. The original shows deep violet irises against green leaves, and on pink washed cotton, those colours take on new warmth. The acid-wash process gives each tee unique character -- no two are exactly the same.
