About the Artwork

"Fruit" (or "Pomegranate") was one of Morris's first wallpaper designs, created in 1862 for Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co. The pattern draws from medieval tapestries and Middle Eastern decorative arts, combining European fruit with an almost Islamic sense of geometric rhythm. Morris hand-drew every element, and the design's complexity reflects his belief that pattern-making was an art equal to painting or sculpture. It remained in continuous production throughout his lifetime.

Who Is This For

Design history buffs, fruit motif fans, and anyone who loves the intersection of Eastern and Western decorative traditions. The rich colors and dense pattern make this bag a statement piece for market days, museum visits, or everyday commutes in Cairo.
